(PHOTOS) Gatewood Fifth Graders Create Aboriginal-Inspired Art
The students' work featured endangered animals with colorful patterns.
fifth grade students looked to Australia for inspiration as they wound up their “Aboriginality” section Wednesday in Karen Anderson’s art class.
The students viewed traditional and contemporary aboriginal art. They then picked an endangered animal, drew it and filled it in with colorful, aboriginal-inspired patterns. After they were through, they added a background with pastels.
The subjects of the art ranged from Australian animals, such as koalas, to species all the way on the other side of the globe, such as polar bears.
