(PHOTOS) Hopkins Runner John Klecker Takes First at Blaine Invitational

The Royals competed against a total of 29 teams.

The Hopkins Royals cross country teams traveled to Ham Lake to compete in the Blaine Invitational Thursday afternoon. The invite had a total of 29 teams. The Royals raced in the blue division, boys raced against 14 teams and the girls against 16 teams.

The boys placed second and the girls third in the team competitions. There were 131 competitors in the boys race and 151 in the girls race.

John Klecker was the top finisher for the Royals, placing first with a time of 16:18.0. Other individual finishes were:

  • Thomas Heegaard 10th (16:55.1)
  • Joe Klecker 13th (17:01.8)
  • Sam Jacobwith 17th (17:18.8)
  • Patrick Gallagher 26th (17:40.3)
  • Reed Fischer 31st (17:46.3)
  • Blake Mintaler 39th (17:59.2)

Mary Klecker placed 12th overall and was the girls team leader with a time of 15:28.4. Other individual finishes were:

  • Madeline Hinck 22nd (15:50.6)
  • Courtney Branch 26th (15:54.7)
  • Anna Hall 38th (16:14.8)
