Hopkins wide receiver Andre McDonald pulled his commitment from Vanderbilt.

wide receiver Andre McDonald’s road to the NCAA took another twist Friday when he told GopherIllustrated.com that he’d pulled his commitment from Vanderbilt.
That commitment was McDonald’s second. The Hopkins star and Mr. Football finalist committed to the University of Minnesota in February before dropping that commitment in favor of Vanderbilt.
McDonald said he chose to pull his commitment because receiver coach Chris Beatty left Vanderbilt to take a job as co-offensive coordinator at Illinois and Beatty had been a big part of the reason he chose Vanderbilt.

McDonald is now reconsidering Minnesota—as well as looking at Illinois, Iowa and UCLA as possibilities. He also noted that there’s still a chance he could go to Vanderbilt.
The Star Tribune reports that McDonald has scheduled a visit to Minnesota for Jan. 13 and another to Illinois on Jan. 27.
