
Hopkins boys lacrosse won a nail-biter Tuesday against St. Cloud Tech to advance to the second round of the Section 6 tournament.
The teams were tied 0-0 at the end of the first quarter and tied 2-2 at the end of the first half—with Junior Ryan Hazuka sinking both of Hopkins' goals in that half
No. 9 seed St. Cloud Tech was able to net two more in the second half, but Hopkins Senior Derek Brueske sank two goals in the last 15 minutes of play to send it to overtime.

Brueske then netted the overtime winner with just 2:49 left to secure a 5-4 win.
For the next round of the tournament, No. 8 seed Hopkins will take on No. 1 seed Eden Prairie at 7 p.m. Thursday at Eden Prairie.
