ALM Students fill Hopkins West Jr. High School with Ideas and Creativity
On May 24, more than 100 students presented the results of their ALM (Autonomous Learner Model) research in the cafeteria and gyms of .
The projects consisted of audio-visual presentations, simulators, display cards, interactive activities and learning games. Subject were as varied as the media—including texting and driving, the science of perfume, guitar construction, motion-tracking special effects and fencing techniques.
Organized by Gail Weinhold, the coordinator for Hopkins West Jr. High School gifted and talented programs, ALM Project Palooza is the capstone for more than eight months of study and work. Students in the ALM program are selected from the larger body of Challenge (gifted and talented) students.
