Visit Shady Oak Beach Saturday for Free Admission, Paddling

Saturday promises to be the perfect day to visit .

Those who walk or ride their bikes to Shady Oak that day will be able to get into the beach for free and use canoes and kayak equipment for free. There will also be reduced prices on healthy snacks.

The special is part of Hopkins in Motion, a program that encourages residents to be active. In the past, . That changed this year in order to promote year-round activity.

Shady Oak Beach is open 10 a.m. through 8 p.m. through Aug. 26. Daily admission is normally $6, with $3 admission after 6 p.m.
