Xcel Energy Investigating Hopkins Power Outage

Xcel Energy is investigating a power outage in central Hopkins that started at about 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The cause is not yet known, but the company has a crewmember on site determining the problem, according to a company spokeswoman.

An estimated 461 Hopkins customers are affected, according to the company. Xcel’s website lists an estimated restoration time of 10:21 p.m. and 10:27 p.m., but the spokeswoman said an accurate time won’t be known until the problem is determined.
