20th Annual Remembering our Stars Gala May 19 to raise funds for Alzheimer’s

Volunteers from around the Twin Cities have been working for almost a year planning this year’s 20th annual Remembering Our Stars Gala set of Saturday May 19 at the Depot Minneapolis. Featuring Senior CBS Correspondent and author Barry Peterson as the key note as well as silent and live auctions and an after party with local band High & Mighty, organizers hope to raise record funds that will help the organization address the growing need for families needing Alzheimer’s Association supportive services.

“We’re especially excited about our auction this year,” commented Diane Scheremet, chair of the auction committee. “The local businesses have been really generous with their contributions. It is truly amazing.” Auction items include throwing out the first pitch at the July 15 Twins game, four tickets in Row 13 for the Kenny Chesney / Tim McGraw Concert at Target Field and grounds passes good for any day at the 2012 Ryder Cup at Medinah Country Club.

Following the formal dinner, guests are invited to dance to local band High & Mighty at the first annual Afterthought After-Party, sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association Young Champions, a diverse group of emerging leaders who are dedicated to changing the face of Alzheimer’s by raising awareness of the disease across generations.
