SOUTH ST. PAUL, Minn. – South Suburban Adult Basic Education (SSABE), in partnership with Inver Hills Community College, is hosting its annual GED graduation ceremony on Wednesday, May 16 at 7 p.m. The ceremony will take place at the Inver Hills Community College Fine Arts Building located at 2500 E. 80th St. in Inver Grove Heights.
SSABE, a program of Northern Dakota County TriDistrict Community Education, offers free GED preparation courses, basic literacy classes and English classes for adults living in the School Districts of South St. Paul, Inver Grove Heights and West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan.
About 30 ABE students ranging in age from 18 to 68 will walk across the stage on May 16. All of our graduates have various reasons for obtaining a GED; some had to drop out of school at a young age to help take care of their family, others have lost their job due to outsourcing and want to obtain their GED to receive more employment opportunities.
