Florence Moquist, 89, of South St. Paul, passed away Dec. 20, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Society in Inver Grove Heights. Florence (Kasprowicz) was born and raised on a farm near Stephen, MN on Nov. 4, 1922. She left the farm in 1940 and moved to the Twin Cities. There, she met and married Wilbur Moquist and settled in South St. Paul where they lived for 71 years raising their three children. Florence was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in South St. Paul. In addition, she enjoyed gardening, canning, homemaking and reading books and newspapers daily. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur, along with several siblings. She is survived by her daughter Rose Bruber of South St. Paul, and sons Ronald (Joanne) Moquist of Sioux Falls, SD and Richard (Barbara) Moquist of Fargo ND. Other survivors include siblings Tony, Vincent and Christine; grandchildren William Bruber, Aaron (Shelly) Bruber, Erika (Robert) Ryan, Ian (Jennifer) Moquist, Amanda (Shane) Maher and Ben Moquist; great-grandchildren Cassandra Bruber, Ilyssa Ryan, Michael Ryan, Sarah Bruber, Enzo Moquist, Willow Moquist and Mazlow Moquist and great great-granddaughter Lydia Bruber and many loving nieces and nephews. During her final years, Florence spent time at the Sterling House and Good Samaritan Society in Inver Grove Heights. Her family would like to thank the staff for their excellent care and kindness. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Grace Lutheran Church, Eighth Ave. and Southview Blvd., South St. Paul. Visitation one hour before service on Tuesday. Memorials preferred to Grace Lutheran Church or South St. Paul Educational Foundation.
