Irving E. Lipove, 88, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2012, at Woodlyn Heights Care Center in Inver Grove Heights after a long battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 20, 1923, in St. Paul. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Bea. Survived by friends Bob and Jane Paulsen of Burnsville and many other friends. Irv worked for 45 years for the Pioneer Press-Dispatch as a copy boy, reporter, writer and editor. In his early years, he was a crime reporter and covered some of the most famous St. Paul crime cases. He appeared on the History Channel telling about his adventures. Memorials preferred to Healtheast Hospice.
