Gene passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 10, 2012. Survived by loving wife, Val, of 58 years; sister, Ruth; children Jeanne (Jay), David, Mike (Lori), Suzanne (Dan); grandchildren, Molly Jean, Jacob, Matthew and Megan. Gene enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps to honorable serve his country. Devout Catholic and hard-working dedicated family man. Gene enjoyed fishing, hunting, coaching, hosting the annual booya and fish frys. Gene loved spending time with family and friends. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of St. Patrick, 3535 72nd St., IGH. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Monday at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave, IGH. Also 9-10 a.m. prior to Mass at Church. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
