Rather than spend a lot of money on overpriced candy and flowers, show your sweetheart that you have a sweet heart by donating to United Way’s ‘SHOW SOME LOVE’ Campaign. It’s so simple and makes a big difference. For example:
- $5 – buys two hot meals at an on-site meal program
- $10 – provides a nutritious meal for a hungry family
- $15 – buys three days of meals for a senior
“For people in our Twin Cities community struggling with basic needs such as having food to eat or a warm place to sleep, Valentine’s Day is just another day to survive. What a perfect time to show some love to someone in need,” said Kathy Hollenhorst, SVP of Marketing for Greater Twin Cities United Way. “This Valentine’s Day we are asking everyone to not only Live United but also LOVE UNITED and give today, because even small amounts of love can really make a difference!”
