Pawn shops are bumping up against discount retailers, the Star Tribune reports.

The humongous Pawn America in Inver Grove Heights is highlighted in a Star Tribune roundup of industry trends that are seeing lines blur between pawn shops and discount retail stores.
Pawn America owner Brad Rixmann's 33,000-square-foot store in IGH is a prime example.
“Brad is an innovator,” a trade group official told the newspaper. “He’s diversifying the business model.”
