Blotter: Neighbors' Dispute May Stem from Animal Complaint

Aug. 26

3 p.m.—Police responded to a counterfeit currency incident on the 6300 bock of Concord Boulevard. The manager of a gas station reported that he recovered a forged $100 bill. The watermark containted the portrait of President Abraham Lincoln, and the security strip embedded on the left side of the bill read "five." Due to the quality of the forgery, the bill and a report were sent to the Secret Service.

Aug. 27

6:24 p.m.—Police responded to a disorderly conduct call on the 4700 block of Blaine Ave. The caller told officers he was unloading groceries when his neighbor, who appeared drunk, began verbally harassing him. The neighbor called the victim a "snitch" and threatened to knock the man out. The caller told officers that the problem may have stemmed from an animal complaint made earlier for the neighbor's residence.

8:52 p.m.—Police responded to a fireworks complaint on the 8500 block of Bechtel. The caller went to a nearby residence to ask them to stop shooting fireworks, but told police his request was met with laughter. Police arrived at the home and found a party of 30-40 people in the backyard area. The party host told officers she and her son had been shooting off the fireworks. Police detained the son, who then apologized to the miffed neighbor.

Aug. 28

12:49 a.m.—Police responded to a report of an assault on the 100 block of Hayes Ave.

Aug. 29

3:47 p.m.—Police responded to a theft/damage to property incident on the 9700 block of Robert Trail S.

10:47 p.m.—Police responded to a theft/disorderly conduct incident on the 3400 block of 71st St.

Aug. 31

2:43 a.m.—Police responded to an incident on the 3400 block of 78th St. E. The suspect fled from officers on foot.  

9:52 p.m.—Police responded to a possession of marijuana/tobacco by a minor incident on the 3400 block of 78th St. E.
