Blotter: When Asked to Leave a Bar, 23-year-old Man Got Violent

Disorderly conduct and burglary calls also included in the Inver Grove Heights police reports for March 4 through March 11.

March 4

9am — Police responded to a malicious punishment call on the 3700 block of Conroy Trail.

10:55pm — An Inver Grove Heights police officer pulled over a car driven by a 19-year-old Apple Valley man on 155th Street W. because the headlight wasn't working. When the officer approached the car, he noticed the smell of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. He searched the driver and found a small metal canister known as a marijuana grinder in the man's waistband. The driver was cited for petty misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

March 5

1:30am — Police responded to a disorderly conduct call on the 8000 block of Delano Court.

9:45pm — Police responded to reports of an assault that took place at a bar and restaurant on the 5000 block of Blaine Avenue. When an officer arrived, witnesses and the victim of the assault told them that a 23-year-old man had spilled drinks on two women sitting at the bar. When the victim asked him to leave, the man punched him twice in the face, causing a black eye and a chipped tooth. Police mailed a fifth degree assault citation to the suspect's home.

March 6

1:55pm — Police responded to a fraud report on the 3200 block of 70th St. E.

March 8

12:40pm — Police responded to a disorderly conduct call on the 5000 block of Blackberry Trail.

March 10

3:23pm — Police responded to reports of a burglary on the 6400 block of Cahill Avenue.

March 11

8:11am — Police responded to a possession of drug paraphernalia call on the 8100 block of Cahill Avenue.
