BLOG: Snappy Visits Cannon River Vineyard
Snappy took a road trip last Saturday before her big day to relax and enjoy the scenic countryside of Southern Minnesota. Destination: Cannon Falls Winery and the Cannon River Vineyards for a tour.
Snappy and daughter headed South from Inver Grove Heights to Cannon Falls on a warm, sunny day to explore the Vineyard. Destination: Cannon River Vineyard tour!
We stopped in town at the Winery to pick up our tour passes and headed up for the tour. There were small groups of people enjoying the Adirondack chairs under the arms of big oak trees, picniking and sampling wine and cheese under the barn-shelter overlooking the beautiful valley and vineyard immediately surround them.
As we arrived, we met the vineyards Viticulturist, Jordan Godes. He took Snappy and daughter on a little tour to show us the newest plantings and a little about what those grapes would be used for. The newest vines include the, "St. Croix," "Louis Swenson," and the "Osceola Muskat." Godes explained, the St. Croix and Louis Swenson are grapes that will be used for blending the wines. The Osceola Muskat makes a sweeter, blush type wine.

Godes said the latest news at the winery is that their wines are restocked and freshly bottled. If you were missing any of your favorites, they are back in stock. Some of them that are once again available are: Mancini, Gunflint Red, Sogn Blush, Iren's Blush and Mill Street.
Stop down for a tasting and visit the beautiful vineyards in Cannon Falls. It's a wonderful drive in the country and the wines are some of the best in the state!
