Coming Together To Help Others
Field trips and service opportunities offer families enrolled in Minnesota Connections Academy the opportunity to meet and help others.
Students, their family members, and faculty from Minnesota Connections Academy recently took a field trip to Feed My Starving Children in Eagan. The group packed 359 boxes, which equals 77,544 meals. Their efforts will feed 212 children for a year!
Henry McNamara, a 3rd grader from Inver Grove Heights, was among those packing meals and offered a smirk for the camera. Henry's mom appreciated the school arranging the field trip. "It's nice to offer younger students community service opportunities in the form of a field trip," she said.
Connections Academy is a K-12 online public school that students across the state attend from home. Field trips, community activities and other social events provide in-person opportunities to supplement the student's online coursework.
