The Red Baron WCHA Final Five has become a perennial favorite in Saint Paul and the new format will make it even better. As the WCHA welcomes two new member teams this season, Bemidji State University and the University of Nebraska-Omaha, the expanded conference has also modified its post-season format. The WCHA playoff championship will now consist of six first round, best-of-three series, at campus sites. Following the completion of the first round, the six winning teams will advance to the Red Baron WCHA Final Five at Xcel Energy Center. The Final Five will consist of two quarterfinal games to be played on Thursday, two semi-final games Friday and the Broadmoor Trophy championship game on Saturday night. There is no longer a third place game.
