2012 Twin Cities Kidney Walk

I WILL BE WALKING IN THE NATIONAL KIDNEY FOUNDATION’S

***KIDNEY WALK***

In July 2008, I was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease.  During the last four years my kidney function has significantly decreased.  In June of this year, I was hospitalized with Acute Renal Failure and told the devastating news that I have ESRD (End Stage Renal Disease).  My kidneys are only functioning at about 8% and I am in Stage 5 of my kidney disease. I will be required to start dialysis this month in order to continue living.  I was also told that I will need a kidney transplant.  I am in the early process of getting placed on the kidney transplant list, unless a living donor comes forward to give me the gift of life.  It has been and continues to be a difficult struggle living with this disease.
