Feed My Starving Children

On Saturday, August 3rd, the Inver Grove Heights Royalty partnered with this year's candidates to volunteer at Feed My Starving Children. Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit organization that provides food to malnurished children in nearly 70 countries around the world. We labeled packages, packaged food and worked in the warehouse. Our group, along with the other groups volunteering on Saturday, packaged 73 boxes of food. That equates to 15,768 meals, which is enough to feed 43 people for one year!  The food we packed on was being shipped to Haiti. We had a lot of fun and it was a very rewarding experience. It also gave our candidates an opportunity to see another part of participating in the IGH Scholarship Program. It's not just about parades and coronations, it's also about community service and hopefully making the world a better place.
