Get Out: Weekend Events In and Around Inver Grove Heights

Cabin fever? Here are a few Patch weekend event prescriptions.

Experience Minnesota's warm weather pleasures in February this weekend. Enjoy music, dancing and shop local crafters' wares.

  • Full Moon Showshoe Hike
    Where/When:
    6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18 at Dodge Nature Center, 365 Marie Ave W. in West Saint Paul     
    Why Go:
    The mild weather forecasted and the warm beverage at the end will make this moonlit walk a peaceful way to relax after a busy week. Pre- registration is required by calling 651-455-4531.
    Pricing:
    Admission for non-members is $7. Members pay $5. Free for children ages 2 and under.

  • Where/When:
    8pm on Feb. 19 at Jersey's Bar & Grill in Inver Grove Heights          
    Why Go: Great music and dancing from Bon Jovi to Lady Gaga.

    Where/When:
    Minneapolis Convention Center Feb. 18-20 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.   
    Why Go:
    Golf academy by PGA pros, products, activities, clinics and more.
    Pricing: Adults (16 and older): $10, youth (11-15): $5, Children under 10 years of age: Free.

  • Where/When:
    2 to 5pm on Feb. 19 at the Sibley Memorial Highway VFW.
    Why Go:
    Proceeds from the fundraiser benefit veterans, not too mention the tasty tacos and an entertaining meat raffle.

  • The Grove           
    When/
    Where: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 19 at Veterans Memorial Community Center.   
    Why Go:
    Creative arts, crafts and gifts from local crafters.                         Pricing: Free (unless you decide to buy something).
