Gun Found on Inver Hills Community College Campus
At no point were students on the campus in danger, according to school administrators.

An investigation is pending at Inver Hills Community College after administrators discovered a gun on campus on Monday.
Citing student privacy laws, Inver Hills Community College Vice President of Student Affairs Barbara Reed wouldn't comment on whether the gun was loaded, what type of weapon was found or whether the weapon was found in a student's possession. Nor would she say what time the weapon was found, or whether local law enforcement agencies were contacted to assist the school.
At no point were students on the campus in danger, Reed said.

“We are investigating that, but because a student may have been involved, I really can’t comment because of student privacy,” Reed said. “It appears from what I know that the person was not familiar with the prohibition at MnSCU colleges and universities that if one has a concealed carry permit, you still can’t bring a weapon on campus."
Minnesota State Colleges and Universities policies prohibit students and staff from carrying a weapon on campus, even if they have a permit for it. Students who violate the policy can be disciplined under school rules and may be subject to a formal hearing by a panel that includes college staff, fellow students and faculty. Students who were found to have violated the school's policies can be suspended or expelled from the school.
