IGH B.E.S.T. Foundation's 17th Annual May Day 5k Run--May 2nd.

What is 16,404 feet 2 inches long and a ton of fun?

Announcing Grove Heights BEST Foundation’s 17th May Day 5K, Inver Grove Heights’ first event of summer. This year’s May Day 5K will be held on Saturday, May 2, at the Inver Grove Heights Community Center/National Guard Armory. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The run/walk race starts at 8:45 a.m. Participants receive a May Day 5K T-shirt before the race. Following the race, runners/walkers can enjoy a picnic lunch (hot dog/chips/drink) before the awards ceremony.

Our 5K is a fund-raising event to fund scholarships for Simley High School students. This year’s event includes a 5K race, a short run/walk event for non-competitive supporters, a T-shirt, a picnic lunch, an appearance by Inver Grove Heights royalty, photo opportunities with team mascots, gift card prizes and the annual hula hoop contest.

Medals are awarded for placing first, second or third in the following categories:

Students 13 and Under: Girls and Boys

Students 14 to Under 18: Girls and Boys

Adult 18 and older: Women and Men

Senior 50 and older: Women and Men

In addition to the May Day 5K, plan to take advantage of the Indoor Toy and Garage Sale in the West Arena in the Inver Grove Heights Community Center. The sale hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
