On June 12, Inver Grove Heights police arrested local resident Jeffery Mark Conlin, charging him with dealing and possessing a large quantity of methamphetamine.
According to a criminal complaint filed by Dakota County prosecutors this week, Conlin is charged with one count of first-degree sale of a controlled substance and one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance. Conlin faces between 4 and 40 years in prison and potentially a fine between $300,000 and $1 million for each charge.
After obtaining a search warrant, the criminal complaint says, police raided Conlin's house. In his pockets, they claim to have found 54.37 grams of methamphetamine and $140 in bills. In his house, police say they found 10.88 grams of methamphetamine and "drug paraphernalia."
The criminal complaint says Conlin told police he uses meth about once a day, but the large quantity police claim to have found on him was not his. Instead, he he said, he was holding it for a friend.
