Inver Grove Heights Man Severely Injured in Wisconsin Crash

A 23-year-old Inver Grove Heights resident sustained "life-threatening" injuries after the semi he was driving struck another tractor-trailer.
Boerjan was traveling eastbound on I-94 near Hixton, Wis. at 12:50am on Wednesday morning when the semi he was driving swerved off the interstate, striking a disabled semi that was parked on the shoulder, Wisconsin State Patrol officials said.
The drivers of both vehicles were transported from the scene to Luther Midlefort Hospital in Eau Claire, Wis. Boerjan's injuries were severe, according to a state patrol report. The driver of the disabled vehicle, Patrick Frank McCarty of Roseville, sustained "non-life-threatening injuries," according to the report.

Boerjan is currently being treated at Luther Midelfort and is in "serious condition," hospital officials on Thursday morning.
A Wisconsin State Patrol spokesperson said Thursday the roads were "clear and dry." The cause of the accident has yet to be determined, and unofficials are unsure when, and if, any charges will be filed. The crash shut down both eastbound lanes of I-94 while emergency responders cleared debris from the road.
