Inver Grove Heights School ISD 199 Students Earn Top Scores Nationwide At WordMasters Meet

The WordMasters Challenge™ is a national vocabulary competition based on solving analogies above grade level. Inver Grove Heights Schools students from the Atheneum Gifted Magnet Program and Pine Bend Elementary School earned outstanding scores at the second of three WordMasters Challenge™ meets this year.
The district’s 3rd-grade team scored an impressive 177 points out of 200 in the last meet, achieving Highest Honors and placing 7th in the nation. Competing in the Blue Division of the WordMasters Challenge™, 3rd graders Hayley Chatleain, Tyler Olson, and Mila Sarver, and 4th grader Braxton Rodriguez each earned a perfect score of 20 on the challenge. Only 17 third graders and 37 fourth graders in the country earned perfect scores.

In the more difficult Gold Division, Finn Christman was one of only 101 4th graders in the nation to achieve a perfect score. Thomas Gaisbauer, a 3rd grader in the Blue Division; Annika Ericson, a 4th grader in the Gold Division; and Alexis To, a 5th grader in the Gold Division all earned high scores in the last meet as well.
