Inver Grove Heights Schools Celebrate Black History With Student-Led Assembly

Inver Grove Heights Middle School’s Students of Color Leadership group organized an assembly to celebrate Black History Month. The assembly, which students had been working on since December, featured music, spoken word, reflection, and a step routine performed by students.

It also featured a video representation of student voices and a video of students asking peers and staff about black history. Pine Bend Elementary School Principal Quennel Cooper made opening and closing remarks, and guest speaker Cornelius (Corn) Rish did an interactive piece about his black hero and how he impacted his life.
