Eagan & Lakeville Resource Center recognized as a top Non-Profit in MN for work in providing access to healthy food for families in need
The Eagan & Lakeville Resource Center (ELRC) has been recognized as one of the top 15 nonprofits working to provide access to healthy food to families in need in the state of Minnesota by Philanthropedia, a division of GuideStar, and Minnesota Philanthropy Partners, which supports The Saint Paul Foundation, Minnesota Community Foundation, and 1,600 other affiliates across Minnesota.
“Of the clients served at the ELRC, 49% are children. We believe that every person—especially children— deserve the right to access healthy food,” states ELRC Executive Director Lisa Horn.

Jasmine Marrow, manager of Philanthropedia research at GuideStar, the leading source of nonprofit information, says, "These are critical problems that require critical solutions. Our list of the top 15 high-impact nonprofits that increase access to healthy food in Minnesota not only offers recognition to high-impact nonprofits in the field, but also provides research-based recommendations for donors wanting to support the best organizations that are combating these vital social issues." The Eagan & Lakeville Resource Center was one of only 3 food shelves in the entire state to receive this recognition.
In April, the Eagan & Lakeville Resource Centers received the MN Campus Compact President’s Community Partner Award for the Mobile Pantry at Inver Hills Community College. Each year Minnesota Campus Compact invites member presidents and chancellors to give statewide recognition to effective civic engagement leaders. This award is for a community-based organization that has enhanced the quality of life in the community in meaningful and measurable ways and has engaged in the development of sustained, reciprocal partnerships with the college or university, thus enriching educational as well as community outcomes.

Supporters of the Eagan & Lakeville Resource Center are also spotlighted for their generosity to the March Campaign. For the second year in a row, the ELRC was ranked number 6 in the top 10 March Campaign Food Shelf Awards, presented by Minnesota Food Share. This award acknowledges food shelves throughout Minnesota that raised the most food and funds in the March Campaign and will receive a generous financial gift as a result.
The Eagan & Lakeville Resource Center is a nonprofit organization committed to serving those in need and to eliminating hunger in Dakota County, serving over 1,300 families each month through their Pantry food shelves in Eagan and Lakeville, and their Mobile Pantry currently serving Apple Valley, Inver Grove Heights, and Rosemount.
