UPDATE: Man Behind Alleged Bremer Bank Heist Charged
Police say one person was involved in an attempted robbery at the Bremer Bank in Inver Grove Heights on Wednesday afternoon.
Update (10:58 a.m., May 3) Christopher Lemarque Miller, 27, has been charged with second-degree aggravated robbery in connection with yesterday's robbery of .
Miller was arrested at 2:27 p.m. Wednesday afternoon and booked into Dakota County Jail at 5:43 p.m. He is scheduled to make his first appearance in Dakota County court on May 4.
The charge against Miller is a felony and carries with it a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.

Update (5:37 p.m., May 2) Acting on a description provided by an employee of Bremer Bank, Inver Grove Heights police were able to establish a perimeter of safety and quickly apprehend a 27-year-old man they say robbed the bank shortly before 2 p.m. today.

A man matching the employee's description of the suspect was located at a nearby address and taken into custody at 2:27 p.m.
was locked down until the suspect was apprehended because of its proximity to Bremer Bank. IGH police gave no indication that any staff or students at the school were ever in danger.
IGH PD is continuing its investigation of the incident.

Original story (4:46 p.m., May 2) Inver Grove Heights police have one person in custody following a bank robbery Wednesday afternoon.
Police responded to an alarm at the on Cahill Avenue in Inver Grove Heights shortly before 2 p.m. At least one police unit was on scene within minutes of the initial alarm.
Inver Grove Heights Police Chief Larry Stanger said no weapon was displayed during the robbery. At this point, police believe only one person was involved in the incident.
