Sarah Luby and Jill Richgels each score two goals as eight different Spartans find the back of the net in Tuesday's game

Coming off a 6-6 tie against Henry Sibley, the Simley High Spartans tightened up the defense and walloped visiting Richfield 10-1 in a girls soccer contest Tuesday afternoon at Inver Grove Heights.

Eight different players scored for the Spartans, led by two goals each from seniors Sarah Luby and Jill Richgels. Also scoring for Simley were Courtney Schaaf, Sydney Knutson, Maddie Barry, Kaylee Hatfield, Katie Atkins and Rachel Rud.

"It was nice to see eight different scorers, and contributions from everybody," said Simley coach Cassie Husemann. "I got all my players in, minus my backup keepers, that's always nice to do. It's not often something you can do in high, intense games.
