The Simley High School track teams traveled to Tartan to compete in the preliminary conference championships on Tuesday. This was the first day of a two-day competition. The competition wraps up on Thursday. The girls track team is currently in sixth place with 9.5 points. Here are some individual highlights: <ul> <li>Emma Russ placed seventh in the high jump.</li> <li>Margie Freed placed fifth in the 3,200 meter run.</li> <li>Mariah Hoffman placed fifth in the discus.</li> <li>Kersten Schwanz qualified for the the 100-meter dash final.</li> </ul> The boys are currently in sixth place with 16 points. Here are few individual highlights: <ul> <li>Mykar Groves placed third in the shot put.</li> <li>Carter Lang placed third in the triple jump.</li> <li>Eric Johnston qualified for both the 100- and 200-meter dash finals.</li> </ul>
