Students at <a href="http://www.tizacademy.com/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy</a> competed in the 100-meter dash, 100-meter hurdles, hula hoops and other events at the school's race and relay day on Monday. Everyone kept moving, whether they were in a race or just walking around the field. Kindergarten through second grade students began their races in the morning, followed by third through fifth grade. The sixth- through eighth-graders had their races in the afternoon. Keeping the students hydrated and cool became a priority as the temps soared. Gatorade and lots of water was given out. A water feature was added to the field walk, a school aid and a water hose. This quickly became a very popular stop because of the constant stream of sprinkled water.
