PRESS RELEASE: City's Annual Clean-Up Day on Saturday

Have old furniture or electronics that you need to get rid of? Bring them to the city's Public Works Maintenance Facility on Saturday.

Each year the city of Inver Grove Heights gives residents the opportunity to get rid of unwanted items for a minimal fee. This year, the city's annual Clean-Up Day is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17.

The items listed below are accepted.

Household Appliances: $10 per unit plus a $5 surcharge on air conditioners and water softeners. Commercial and RV appliances are extra.

Electronics:    

  • Computers: $5
  • Computer monitors: $15-25 (depending on size)
  • Peripherals (keyboards, mice, speakers, etc.): $1
  • Printers: $5
  • TV's: $10-45 (depending on size)
  • DVD and VCR Players: $5
  • Fax machines: $5
  • Cell phones: $1

Tires:

  • Lawn & Garden: $2 
  • Car: $5 
  • Light Truck: $7.50 
  • Truck: $10 (with rim: Add $2 per tire)

Miscellaneous

  • Carpet: $2/ per square yard (dry)
  • Furniture: $3 each (includes box springs)
  • Mattresses: $10 each
  • Bicycles: $3 each
  • LP Tank: $5/small, $10/large
  • Construction Debris: $6/cu. Yard
  • Scrap Metal: $1 per item
  • Lead Acid Battery: Free
  • Cell Phone Battery: $1
  • Laptop Batteries: $2

Only cash or checks are accepted. Please bring small bills. Proof of residency, such as a driver's license, is required. There will be no Household Hazardous Waste disposal at this year's event. We will provide secure document shredding for FREE through Pioneer Secure Shred.

Please remove: three-ring binders, binder clips or metal tabs on file folders. Shredding Process: Pioneer Secure Shred staff collects and secures material in a locking security container and transports it directly to the mobile shredding vehicle. The material is deposited into the shredding chamber without being touched by human hands.  The shredded material is then sent to a paper recycler.
