Scene From Inver Grove Heights: Simley Volleyball Camp

Girls spend a week learning the basics of volleyball.

Bump. Set. Spike. 

Girls in grades three-12 worked on developing skills while still having fun, Wednesday, through a weeklong volleyball camp at the Inver Grove Heights Middle School.

"The younger they are, the more they improve," coach Mark Kaschke said.

He has been hosting the camp since he began coaching at Simley six years ago.

Kaschke said that the older girls focus more on developing consistency.

"It's a good workout and you learn a lot," said Erika Ooten, 15.

The girls worked on hitting, digging, passing, and several other fundamental skills in the morning. The afternoon portion was dedicated scrimmages. 

"Oh yeah," Leah Forrest said, "It's a lot of fun."
