Simley Girls Fifth in Eight-Team Golf Meet

Maddy Urness shot a 46 and Jessica Pate tallied a 48 to lead the Simley High School girls golf team.

The Simley High School's girls golf team had a tough day on Tuesday.

The Spartans finished a disappointing fifth place in an eight-team varsity girls golf competition Tuesday afternoon at Rich Valley Golf Club in Rosemount. At the end of the day, Simley, with a team score of 199, trailed nine strokes behind winner Mahtomedi.

“We didn’t play well at all,” said Simley head coach Steve Johnston. “We had good holes, but then we’d go bogey, bogey, quadruple.”
