Simley JV Gymnasts Vault to Third in MLK Invitational
Sarah Kruse of the Spartans places eighth in the All-Around to pace Simley girls

The Spartans finished third in the six-team Simley High School Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational junior varsity gymnastics meet Saturday at Inver Grove Heights.
Mahtomedi won the meet with a score of 121.35. Rosemount was second with 118.05, Simley third with 100.05, Minneapolis South/Roosevelt fourth with 96.925, St. Paul Johnson fifth with 94.1 and Richfield sixth with 88.4.
Sarah Kruse of Simley was eighth in the All-Around with a score of 28.45. Teammates Mary Pringle and Cori Nordstrom were 12th (26.2) and 14th (25.0), respectively in the All-Around.

Kruse had a fine afternoon, finishing third in the beam competition with a score of 7.2. She was 10th in the floor exercise (7.3), ninth on the bars (6.5) and tied for 13th in the vault (7.45).
Nordstrom was 10th on the bars (6.45) and Pringle was 18th (5.5).

Pringle was 13th in the floor exercise with a score of 7.15 and 14th on the beam with a 6.35.
Simley's Jacci Rosvold tied for 15th (7.3) in the vault and Sarah Nath was 23rd (7.25).
Simley's gymnasts compete at Henry Sibley Thursday in a meet starting at 6:30 p.m.
