Simley Senior From Inver Grove Heights Honored With Aspirations In Computing Certificate

The program recognizes students for their technology interests, skills, and accomplishments.

The National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) offers an annual awards program, Aspirations in Computing. The program recognizes students for their technology interests, skills, and accomplishments. This year, nearly 4,700 students were up for an award from the center. Of the 133 students selected from Minnesota, Simley High School senior Gabrielle Vang earned a Certificate of Distinction for demonstrating an evolving interest in, aptitude for, and commitment to computing.

Gabrielle and the other 52 Minnesota students selected for the certificate were selected on the basis of solid experience that indicates that they merit recognition and entry into the Aspirations in Computing (AiC) Community. The award also provides recipients networking, scholarship, internship, and summer job shadow opportunities.
