Simley Wrestlers Make All-State Team
Two Simley HS standouts, Kyle Gliva and Nick Wanzek, were named to the 2012 Minnesota Wrestling Coaches All-State Academic Team this week.

Junior Kyle Gliva made the MWCA All-State team in the 113 pounds category, classmate Nick Wanzeck in the 160 pounds. The 28 honorees will be awarded plaques at the River Centre in St. Paul during the state tournament.
Coaches picked the team from a total of 108 nominees. Together, team members have amassed over 4,100 career wins with a combined winning percentage of 80.
“These young men are truly the best of the best, and a great example of the caliber of student-athletes we have involved in wrestling state-wide”, said MWCA All-State Academic Chairperson. Dean Jennissen.

The 2012 All-State Academic Team has a combined GPA of 3.76, the highest of the last eight years’ teams.
Simley is one of four schools with two wrestlers on the team. The school won the Section 4AA championship this past Saturday. The state championship is March 1 at the Xcel Center in St. Paul.
