On Friday, February 21st, Kelsey (Miss IGH) and I had the privilege to attend the South Saint Paul/Inver Grove Heights Rotary Club Dinner. There was a silent auction along with a dessert silent auction. The desserts looked so delicious I wanted to eat them all! :) They also gave out the SOHR Award which is the Service to Others Humanitarian Recognition Award. This award is presented to someone who goes above and beyond to better serve their community. Linda Messerich was the recipient of this award. She works for Neighbor's Inc. and has done a fabulous job helping out with donating items such as food and clothing to those in need. She definitely deserves this award! This event was a great experience, especially because of all of the volunteer work that goes hand in hand with Rotary Club. Volunteering is something I love to do in my spare time and I hope to continue that when I am older. Can't wait for more events like this to come!
