Spartans Boys Lacrosse Nears End Of Regular Season

Simley still searching for first win with one game to go before playoffs.

The Simley boys lacrosse team is still searching for its first victory with just one game remaining in its regular season schedule as the spring sports campaign transitions into playoff time.

Boys Lacrosse: Spartans Drop Tuesday, Wednesday Matchups

Back-to-back losses against St. Thomas and  Rochester Century on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, dropped the Simley boys lacrosse team to 0-11 on the season with one game remaining on its regular-season docket.

The Spartans will play at Hill-Murray on Friday at 6pm in its final pre-playoff contest, with the section tournament scheduled to begin on May 25.

Kellen Asmundson leads Simley with 14 goals and eight assists, while Tony Armstrong has recorded seven goals and eight assists so far this spring.

Baseball: Tartan 11, Spartans 1

An 11-1 loss at Tartan in five innings dropped the Simley baseball team to 2-16 overall and 1-14 in Classic Suburban Conference play. 

Cody Dock scored the only run of the game for the Spartans in the second inning. No RBI was awarded on the play. Simley had just three hits total, with Brody Schintz collecting two of them and Zach Rivera the other.

The Spartans host South St. Paul at 4:15pm on Thursday.

Simley Boys Golf: Spartans Third, Second in Classic Suburban Triangulars

The Simley boys golf team finished third and second, respectively, in a pair of Classic Suburban triangular meets on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Spartans recorded a 170 on Tuesday at Crystal Lakes Golf Course in Lakeville, then fired a 167 at Tartan Park on Wednesday as Will Knopik earned co-medalist honors with a two-over-par round of 38.

Simley Girls Golf: Spartans Fifth In Conference Meet

The Simley girls golf team took fifth in a Classic Suburban meet at Rich Valley Golf Course in Rosemount on Tuesday with a score of 198. Individual statistics were not available. 

Results from a track and field meet featuring Simley on Tuesday were not available.
