Wakota Federal Credit Union of South St. Paul Turns 85!

South St. Paul, Minnesota--- On February 10th, 2016 Wakota Federal Credit Union (WFCU) will be celebrating 85 years of service to our community. The credit union has gone through many technical and cultural changes in order to be Dakota County’s financial institution of choice. To celebrate this milestone, WFCU will be holding various celebratory events throughout the year to honor our long history and partnership with the members of the local communities.

Without the collaboration and efforts of these individuals, we would not be where we are today” said Mary Matheson, President/CEO, Wakota Federal Credit Union.

To kick off 2016, WFCU is launching the new WINcentive Savings product. “We want to promote healthy savings habits while making the process fun and enjoyable” said Patty Koran, Director of Finance, Wakota Federal Credit Union. All current and new members that open a WINcentive Savings account will be entered into both the state-wide and WFCU member only drawings. The prizes vary from monthly to annually and winner will be awarded anywhere from $85 to $5000!

WFCU will be launching different loan and savings promotions throughout the year as a way to thank our members and community for the ongoing support and business they’ve provided over the years. The Annual Community Appreciation Day event will be back this June for its fourth year. This event is held in correlation with the Kaposia Day Parade. WFCU is hosting the SSP Farmers’ Market in the back parking lot of 20th Ave and Southview Blvd. Story Time with the Counting Chef continues on the third Saturday of each month.
