Driver in fatal Jordan crash had 27 open containers of alcohol in his car, police say (cbsnews.com) โ A deadly crash at Old Highway 169 and Aberdeen Avenue in Jordan left a 69-year-old driver dead and his wife seriously injured after their car was struck by a Ford Bronco that allegedly ran a stop sign at highway speed. Jordan police say the Bronco's driver showed signs of intoxication and had 27 open or partially empty alcohol containers in the vehicle, with blood-test results still pending.

2. MnDOT announces overnight closure of Highway 169 (finance-commerce.com) โ Drivers in Jordan should plan for Highway 169 to close overnight between Broadway Street and Delaware Avenue from 10 p.m. Oct. 8 to 5 a.m. Oct. 9. The shutdown lets crews pour concrete for the new 169 and 282/County Road 9 interchange, part of a multiโyear project adding bridges, roundabouts, sidewalks, a pedestrian tunnel, and noise walls to improve safety and traffic flow.
