Cottagewood 4th of July Celebration and Kid's Parade

This year you can expect all the same red, white and blue enthusiasm the Cottagewood 4th of July Celebration has come to be known for.  We'll start the celebration with a Family Fun Run/Walk and end when everyone has had so much fun they have to go home and take a nap before heading out for fireworks. 

Schedule of Events:
  • 9:00 AM Cottagewood 4th of July Family Fun Run/Walk . . . Bring the whole family, pets too, and take part  the inaugural 1-mile run/walk around Cottagewood.  Cost: $5 person/$15 family, each kid finisher will receive a commemorative ribbon -- Registration begins at 8:30AM. 


  • 10:00 AM Pledge of Allegiance and Kid's Parade . . . This your opportunity to display your patriotic spirit  as the Excelsior Fire Department leads participants around the parade route. Whatever your preferred mode of transportation, the young and the young at heart are welcome to participate in this patriotic tradition.  So hop on our bike , scooter, roller blades or wagon and join us.  


  • Kiddie Carnival  . . . This old-fashioned carnival starts immediately following the parade and includes a cupcake walk, dunk tank bounce house and many other classic carnival  games.  Cost: $5.00 per child. 


  • All-American Lunch . . . No July 4th would be complete without this BBQ favorite -- hot dogs. Cost:  $6.00 for a Hot Dog Value Meal which includes a grilled hot dog, chips & beverage.


  • 11:30 AM Raffle Drawing  . . . We've received lots of great raffle prize donations including a Riviera Stand Up Paddleboard.  Tickets are on sale now.  The more tickets you buy the better the chances you'll walk away with a really great prize!  Raffle Tickets:  $1 each/12 for $10 -- Need not be present to win.
  • There will be live music in Children's Park by Matterhorn Brass Band, free popsicles for the parade participants, popcorn, cotton candy, cookies, ice cream treats and lots of photo opportunities!
