Fire Damages Storage Unit in Wayzata

Firefighters initially had difficulty reaching the fire, which burned in a storage unit in an apartment's garage.

A fire broke out in a storage room at High Croft Manor, an apartment building in Wayzata. According to Dan Day, assistant chief of the Fire Department, the fire started at 5 p.m.

The storage room is located in the back of the apartment’s garage, and firefighters had difficulty reaching the room, he said. When they did reach the fire, it took only about half an hour to extinguish, Day explained.

Apartment residents evacuated to the building lobby until the fire was contained. Day estimated that residents were in the lobby for about an hour.
