The Mound-Westonka softball team opened up the 2011 season with an 11-0, five-inning win on the road against Litchfield on Thursday.
Pitcher Kim Hutchins earned the win by striking out 12 of the 16 batters she faced and not giving up a hit.
The White Hawks (1-0) were led offensively by Brooklyn Pouti’s 2-for-3 night, which included a home run, two RBIs, two runs and a stolen base.

McKae Bailey went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, two runs and a triple, while KatieJo Delisle went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a triple and Jenna Hoogeveen went 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
Mound-Westonka’s next game is Friday at home against Annandale. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.
