Mary Knoblauch Dalrymple Morrison

Mary Knoblauch Dalrymple Morrison, 95, passed away peacefully at her home on Cedar Point, Lake Minnetonka, on Aug. 22.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, Clinton Morrison; her children: Florence McMillan, Chicago, Susan Wilson (Steve), Long Lake, Judy Wood (Michael), Wayzata, and North Dakota Governor Jack Dalrymple (Betsy), Bismarck, ND; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mary was devoted to her family and was the focus of many family gatherings. Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, John S. Dalrymple, Jr.; her brothers, Dan and Fran Knoblauch, and her sister, Emily Thorpe.

She graduated from Northrop Collegiate School in 1932 and Smith College in 1936 and was involved in many aspects of her community, including Stevens Square, Lake Minnetonka Garden Club, Northwestern Hospital Auxiliary, U.S. Senior Women's Golf Association, Boca Grande Health Clinic and St. Andrew's Church in Boca Grande, FL.
Mary was an avid golfer, a crack shot, a fierce competitor and her spirit brought great joy to all of her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Aug. 26, at 4 p.m. at St. Martin's Church (2801 Westwood Rd, Minnetonka Beach). A reception will follow at the Morrison home.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to Smith College (The Smith Fund, P.O. Box 340029 Boston, MA 02241-0429), The Blake School (110 Blake Road, Hopkins, MN 55343), Minneapolis College of Art and Design (2501 Steven Avenue, Minneapolis 55404) or Minneapolis Institute of Arts (2400 Third Avenue S., Minneapolis 55404).
