Whitehawks Outlast Glencoe-Silver Lake, Remain Undefeated
The White Hawks overcame a late four-run deficit to improve to 6-0 on the year
The Mound-Westonka softball team overcame a sixth-inning, four-run deficit on Monday and defeated Glencoe-Silver Lake 9-6 in 10 innings.
The White Hawks trailed 4-0 in the sixth inning, but five consecutive hits helped M-W score four runs and tie the game at 4-4. After blowing a 6-4 lead in the top of the seventh, the White Hawks put together three runs in the top of the 10 to improve to 6-0 on the year.
Brooklyn Pouti led off the 10th with a walk and stole second and third. Allie Brady hit a double to right-center field to score game-winning run, and three batters later McKae Bailey hit a two-run single to give M-W a pair of insurance runs.

Kim Hutchins pitched from the fourth inning on to earn the win. She gave up five hits and two runs—one earned—while striking out 13 batters.
At the plate, Hutchins was 3-for-6 with a double and two runs. Evan Bailey was 3-for-6, and Brady was 2-for-6 with two doubles and three RBIs.

Erin Rasmussen went 2-for-5, McKae Bailey went 1-for-5 with two RBIs, and Pouti went 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI, two runs and two stolen bases.
Mound-Westonka’s next game is Tuesday at Annandale. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.
