Obituary: Kecia L. Erickson

Visitation will be Thursday, July 21, from 5-7 p.m. at David Lee Chapel in Wayzata

Kecia L. Erickson, 46 of Plymouth, passed away peacefully early on July 18, 2011 while husband Tony Clapp was at her side.

Also survived by son, Kaeden Erickson, and son, Jordan Sell and his father, Jim Sell; loving parents, Sue and Bob Erickson; brother, Brent (Katie), Alex, Ryan; and brother, Chad (Kerstin), Kaj, Tait, Ava.

As a six year cancer survivor she leaves her trials and tribulations behind. Her family, relatives and friends celebrate her courageous, compassionate and celebratory lifestyle, all of which will be missed by many.

She left her mark graduating from Hopkins High School (1983), Gustavus Adolphus College (1987) and University of Indianapolis, Krannert School of Physical Therapy (1993). Her work life centered around Fairview Institute for Athletic Medicine (IAM) as Director of Quality for the Orthopedic Service Line. While passionate about her work and relationships, she lived each day to the fullest and gave of herself to others. Her commitment to spiritual values was paramount.

The family thanks all who have used CaringBridge.org (keciaerickson) to acknowledge her specialness and uniqueness. Her legacy will be remembered.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 21, from 5-7 p.m. at David Lee Wayzata Chapel, 1220 Wayzata Boulevard East, with a casual memorial service Friday, July 22, at 1 p.m. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Maple Grove, 18500 Co. Rd 101.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fairview Foundation, either Common Thread/Younger Cancer Patients or IAM.
