Seasons End For Local Lacrosse Teams

The postseason marches on, yet it does so without the Wayzata and Orono girls lacrosse teams, both of which fell in the Section 6 playoffs last week.

Orono Girls Lacrosse: Robbinsdale Armstrong 9, Spartans 5

A 9-5 loss to Robbinsdale Armstrong in its Section 6 playoff opener on May 26 ended the Orono girls lacrosse team's season with a 6-9 record.

Shea Noerenberg logged three goals, with Madeline Wiltgen and Catherine Fraser each chipping in a goal apiece in the Spartans' losing cause.

Wayzata Girls Lacrosse: Champlin Park 13, Trojans 12

The Wayzata girls lacrosse team fell by a 13-12 score to Champlin Park in the quarterfinals of the Section 6 playoffs on May 26 to wrap up its spring with a 5-10 record.

Taylor Kramer and McKenna Lorenz tied for the Trojans scoring lead with four goals apiece, with Mata Agre logging three goals and Mackenzie Shannon chipping in one goal in the loss.

Orono and Mound Westonka Baseball: Trojans, White Hawks Begin 5AA Play

The Orono and Mound Westonka baseball teams begin their postseason on Tuesday with opening-round games in the Section 5AA East Subsection Tournament.

Mound Westonka is the No. 2 seed and hosts seventh-seeded Minneapolis North, while No. 4 seed Orono hosts No. 5 Minneapolis Patrick Henry; both games are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
